Brigadier General Pavel Lipka
Multinational Division North East Deputy Commander
Brigadier General Pavel Lipka graduated from the Military High School of Jan Zizka in Opava and Military University in Vyskov and commissioned as an infantry officer in 1993. He also completed Peacekeeping Ops Commander Course, Battalion Staff Course and General Staff Course.
Upon commissioning, Brigadier General Lipka was assigned to the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, where he served as a platoon leader and company commander.
In 1999, he was assigned to the 7th Mechanized Brigade where he served as a company commander, deputy chief of staff, and finally as a deputy battalion commander and commander of the mechanized battalion. From 2010 to 2011 he was posted as a Deputy Chief of Training Branch in the Czech Joint Forces Command.
From 2011 to 2017, he was assigned again to the 7th Mechanized Brigade where he served as a deputy brigade commander and the brigade commander. Subsequently, Brigadier General Pavel Lipka held successive appointments as a Director of the Land Forces Development Department (2018 – 2019) and Czech Land Forces Deputy Commander (2020).
His operational deployments include, serving as a company commander in the Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SFOR, 1997 – 1998). From 2004 to 2005 he was in Kosovo Force (KFOR) as a DACOS G3 in the Multinational Brigade Central (MNB-C) and from 2006 to 2007 as a commander of the 9th Czech Armed Forces Contingent. Brigadier General Pavel Lipka also served in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as a commander of the 2nd Czech Armed Forces Contingent of the Provincial Reconstruction Team (2008 – 2009).
In August 2020 he was appointed to the position of the Deputy Commander of the Multinational Division North East.
Brigadier General Pavel Lipka is married. He has two daughters. His personal areas of interest are sports and hunting.
