Major General Krzysztof Motacki, PhD
Multinational Division North East Commander
Major General Krzysztof Motacki is a graduate of Mechanized Infantry Officers College in Wrocław and National Defence University in Warsaw. He also completed Postgraduate Studies in Management and Marketing in Gdańsk University of Technology, Postgraduate Operational - Strategic Studies, Postgraduate Defence Policy Studies in National Defence University in Warsaw and many specialized courses in Poland and abroad.
After graduation from the Mechanized Infantry Officers College in 1984 he held successive posts as a Platoon Leader, Staff Officer, Company Commander and finally a Deputy Commander of the 14th Reconnaissance Battalion and, from 1991 to 1992, as a Reconnaissance Training Centre Deputy Commander in Giżycko. In 1994 after graduation from National Defence University he served as a S2 Chief in the 4th Armoured Brigade, Orzysz. From 1995 to 1996 he was an Operational Officer in Polish Military Contingent in Lebanon.
After coming back from Lebanon he served in many positions in the 15th Mechanized Brigade in Giżycko including such appointments as a Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander and Deputy Commander. During this time Major General Krzysztof Motacki also was a Deputy Commander and Commander of the Polish Military Contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1999 - 2000) and G-7 Chief in Multinational Division Central South in Iraq (2004 - 2005).
In 2006 Major General Krzysztof Motacki was appointed to the position of Chief of Staff in the 1st Mechanized Division, Legionowo. In 2007 he was again in Iraq as a Chief of Staff of the Multinational Division Central South. Subsequently, he served on the position of Head of Branch in Army Command, Warsaw. From 2009 to 2012 he commanded the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, Budowo. During this time he also was a Deputy Commander for Coalition Region East (RC-E) in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (2010 - 2011). From 2012 to 2013 he was a Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the 12th Mechanized Division in Szczecin.
From 2013 to 2015 Major General Krzysztof Motacki served in J3 Operational Planning Directorate in General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces as a Directorate Deputy Chief and Directorate Chief. From 2015 to 2017 he was a Chief of J3/J7 Armed Forces Operational Planning and Training Directorate in the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
In 2017 Major General Krzysztof Motacki was appointed to the position of the Commander of the Multinational Division North East.
From 2013 he is a PhD in Social Science.
Major General Krzysztof Motacki is married. He has a daughter. His personal areas of interest are history and non - fiction literature.
