The Commander of the Multinational Division North East took the 21st Podhale Rifles Brigade (21st PRBde) to be its subordinate unit during the second stage of Exercise Dragon 19

ORZYSZ TRAINING AREA, Poland – in a ceremony on Sunday, June 16, during Exercise DRAGON 19 on the Orzysz Training Area, the 21st PRBde became a temporary subordinate unit of Multinational Division North East (MND-NE).  The Transfer of Authority protocol was signed by the Commander of MND-NE, MGEN Krzysztof Motacki and the Commander of the 21st PRBde COL Dariusz Lewandowski. The General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces was represented by the Land Forces Inspector BGEN Wojciech Grabowski. 21st PRBde is the main unit of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF-20) which is part of the NATO 2020 Response Force.

The second stage of Exercise DRAGON 19 will be held between 21 and 25 June, as a Command Post Exercise (CPX), and will be the culmination of the brigade headquarters certification process. During the CPX, 21st Podhale Rifles Brigade will carry out tasks associated with defense operation and MND-NE soldiers will form the Higher Command (HICON).
