ELBLĄG, Poland – on Friday, 10 May, soldiers of the Multinational Division North East Headquarters (MND-NE HQ) gathered on assembly to celebrate St. George’s Day – the National Day of England.
The ceremony started with the hearing of the Great Britain National Anthem. Afterwards, LTC Adrian Grinonneau has familiarized the assembled with a history of the St. George’s Day. On this distinctive day, Division Commander MGEN Krzysztof Motacki, gave our colleague best wishes.
Saint George's Day is normally celebrated on 23rd April. However, Church of England rules denote that no saints' day should be celebrated between Palm Sunday and the Sunday after Easter Day so if April 23 falls in that period the celebrations are transferred to after it.
