Orzysz, Poland - this year in the Saber Strike - 18 exercise, soldiers of the Multinational Division North East also took part. They exercised at the Main Command Post during the Command Post Exercise lasting until 8th June. At training areas in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland in the exercise also participated soldiers of battlegroups, which as part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) are stationed on the eastern flank of the Alliance.
On 15th June at the Training Area in Orzysz Saber Strike - 18 was ended by the Distinguished Visitors' Day. On this day, the soldiers participating in the exercise conducted their tasks. The defending subunits carried out the counterattack after enemy assault was stopped. The attack was supported, among others, by Mi-24 and AH-64 helicopters and F-16 fighters. Many Polish and foreign guests watched the soldiers' activities. Among them General Commander of Polish Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Jarosław Mika and the U.S. Army Europe Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Timothy McGuire were present. The Multinational Division North East Headquarters was represented by the Commander Brig. Gen. Krzysztof Motacki.
