Elbląg, Poland - today, 8th June, soldiers of the Multinational Division North East Headquarters end their participation in the Saber Strike - 18 exercise. On that day, the Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast Lt. Gen. Manfred Hofmann visited their operations. During his stay in Elbląg, Gen. Hofmann familiarized with the Main Command Post, participated in the morning briefing of the Command Post staff and watched the staff's work.
The visit ended with an assembly with the participation of the soldiers of the Division Headquarters and colleagues who supported them during the exercise. - As a Commander of the Corps in Szczecin, I am really proud and honoured that we are witnessing together one of the most important milestones of transformation process of the new division (...). As you know this process has started two years ago during the Warsaw Summit where politicians made decision about eFP (enhanced Forward Presence). EFP doesn't only mean Host Nations Brigades in the Baltic Countries and Poland, it means also Multinational Division North East - Gen. Hofmann said.
NATO battlegroups that are stationed in the Baltic States and Poland as part of the Alliance's enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) are one of the part of the Saber Strike - 18 exercise. Command and control over the course of the exercise is carried out by the Headquarters of the Multinational Corps Northeast.
