Today, one of these very significant deeds becomes a reality. - emphasized Gen. Motacki during his speech. It will not be an easy year, but I am convinced that there are no such difficult tasks that the regiment would not be able to do - he added. We are a new unit, but we have a team of people who gained experience in the 16th Headquarters Battalion, during exercises in the country and abroad. 16th Battalion is the foundation that is the basis for further action, which purpose is achieving full readiness to allow carrying out the tasks of the Multinational Division North East Headquarters - said the acting commander of the regiment, Lt. Col. Piotr Cieślak.

The NATO summit, held in 2016 in Warsaw, decided to create a enhanced Forward Presence, whose task is to increase the defence and deterrence potential of NATO on the North Atlantic Alliance eastern flank. Its main strength is the four multinational battalion sized battlegroups deployed in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. To coordinate the battlegroups activities, the Multinational Division North East was established. The unit that will allow carrying out the tasks of the Multinational Division North East Headquarters is a Multinational Division North East Headquarters Command Support Regiment.
